In order to reduce this kind of corrosion, Yost used a tube filled with grease inside to encapsulate the lifting screw, so that every time the leg is lifted, a new grease coating will cover the screw. The presence of these greases may have a good anti-corrosion effect on the internal nuts and screws.

"External corrosion protection is equally important," said Zoran Tomic, SAF (Netherlands) Global Landing Gear Product Planning and Marketing Development Director. The company's surface anti-corrosion and rust removal measures include a technology called "Black Weapon", a chemical substance that combines with metal to form a protective film that prevents metal from being corroded by rain and snow. There is also galvanizing technology to protect the exposed leg parts.

The production of outriggers also pays attention to the safety and maneuverability of the driver when using the outriggers. Yost provides an outrigger with a low speed ratio of 32 rpm, that is, the crank turns 32 revolutions and the outrigger drops an inch, so that the driver can easily support a fully loaded trailer. When there is no load on the outriggers, it can have a high speed ratio of 3.5 rpm/inch, allowing the driver to raise the outriggers quickly.

In 2016, Yost will introduce a new model of outriggers, which has a new transmission and shifting system that can automatically switch to high-speed or low-speed gears when the outriggers are raised and lowered. When the sensing device on the outrigger senses a load, it will switch to a low-speed gear, and when it senses no load, it will automatically switch to a high-speed gear to speed up the lifting speed.
