Dump trucks can be divided into rear-turning and side-turning in terms of lifting methods. Today we will focus on the side-turning semi-trailer.

In fact, most of the dump trucks in the past were rear-turning type, but the rear-turning semi-trailer has relatively high requirements for the height of the lifting jack. Usually, the height of the jacking rod is affected by the length of the carriage. The rod length is also longer. However, the design of the ejector rod adopts a design that climbs step by step, and becomes thinner as it reaches the top, so it is very unfavorable for the lateral stability of the lift.

In this case, the side-turning semi-trailer came out, and one of its biggest advantages is that the height requirement for the lifting mandrel is relatively small, even less than half the height of the rear-turning mandrel. The ejector rods of the rollover semi-trailer are generally evenly distributed at the bottom of the cargo compartment in a straight line, which has a large lifting force and improved lateral stability. Especially for semi-trailers with long cargo compartments, the side-turning dump is more suitable.


In addition, the design of rollover dump trucks is generally equipped with a shift lever, which can help reduce rollover to a certain extent, but it cannot be completely avoided, and strict and standardized operations are required.

Of course, there are advantages and disadvantages, and the disadvantages of the rollover semi-trailer are also more obvious, mainly because the requirements for the unloading site are higher, and it is easy to bury the tires and the cargo is not clean when unloading. So, is there any skill to unload the semi-trailer on its side?


1. The unloading site should be level. This is the problem that car owners should pay attention to first. Be sure to choose a place with flat ground to unload, especially there should be no slopes on the left and right sides. If the center of gravity of the dump truck is shifted after the container is raised, it is very easy to cause the car to roll over.

2. The ground for unloading should be solid. Dump trucks are generally heavy in weight. If the ground is soft, it is easy to cause the wheels to sink, the body to shake or the vehicle to roll over.

3. The guardrail of the unloading part is converted into a baffle. This is also a method provided by the car owner to prevent tires from being buried. The guardrail next to the tires is converted into a baffle, and attention is paid to the height from the ground, so that it is not easy to bury the tires when unloading.

4. Do not raise the ejector pin all at once. It is recommended that the owner pay more attention to observation during the unloading process, and observe the vehicle when the ejector bar is raised. If there is no deviation or buried tires, then raise the next section.

5. Pay more attention to observation during the unloading process. During the unloading process, the owner must observe the changes in the compartment from the rear window. If the tires sink or the body tilts, the loading and unloading should be stopped immediately. It is best to arrange another person outside the vehicle to assist in the observation.

There are also car owners who said that when the rollover semi-trailer is unloading, the front of the car and the car can maintain a certain angle, generally no more than 45°, to maintain the balance of the body.
